Snap Decision / FAQ
Snap Decision FAQ
Is it right for us
Can Snap Decision stop our key decisions from stalling?
Yes. Your decisions move with a clear owner and without approval steps that add nothing. Snap Decision is a Mantle framework that clarifies who decides what, builds in pre-mortems and sets regular decision rituals. It runs alongside Mantle's other frameworks, such as Trajectory and North Star.
Is Snap Decision for leadership teams stuck in long approval chains?
Yes. You start with the decisions that matter most: the important ones that come up often. Snap Decision is built for leadership teams in larger organizations whose key decisions stall in long approval chains with no clear owner.
Will Snap Decision clear out meetings that rarely decide anything?
Yes. Your calendar works for your decisions. A meeting audit checks recurring meetings for decision yield, and the high-cost, low-yield ones are stopped.
How it works
Can we make sure each key decision has one clear owner?
Yes. You know who decides. You get a decision-rights model that names one accountable decider for each key decision, with clear input rights for others. You also get pre-mortems before major decisions, a decision log with rationale and reversal criteria, and an audit of recurring meetings to find the ones that decide little.
Will different kinds of decisions get different handling?
Yes. Each kind of decision gets the ritual it needs. Snap Decision uses four decision archetypes: big bets, cross-cutting, delegated and ad hoc, each with its own ritual.
Will we surface the risks before we commit to a major decision?
Yes. You see failure modes before you commit. A pre-mortem comes before major decisions, so assumptions surface before they become commitments.
Can we reverse a decision in an orderly way if it turns out wrong?
Yes. Reversal is built in, not improvised. Each logged decision records its reversal criteria, a reversal protocol is built in, and the reversal rate is tracked alongside speed and quality.
Will dissenting views be recorded with each decision?
Yes. Dissent is on the record. The decision log captures the rationale, the decider, the dissenters and the reversal criteria for each key decision.
Your systems and data
Can we measure whether our decisions are getting faster and better?
Yes. You track both speed and quality. Time to decision is measured, reported and adjusted, and decision quality is scored against outcomes, not process. Mantle Counsel works with your leadership through the early rollout, then the model is recalibrated each quarter.
Will Snap Decision work inside the other Mantle frameworks we use?
Yes. Its rituals embed in Trajectory, North Star, Litmus, Spark and Lightning Build, so the work those frameworks speed up doesn't wait on a slower decision model.
